Terms of service

1. Our services

Consul Forge develops and operates subscription software for businesses. Individual products may include additional product terms, order details, usage limits, or documentation. If those conflict with these Terms, the product-specific terms control for that product.

Product output, alerts, summaries, templates, and other content are provided for general informational and operational purposes. They are not legal, tax, accounting, financial, medical, or other professional advice. Automated systems can miss, misclassify, or summarize information incorrectly. You are responsible for verifying important conclusions with original sources and an appropriate authority or qualified professional before acting.

2. Accounts and security

You must provide accurate information, keep account access secure, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity under your account and for ensuring that your use complies with applicable law and your organization's policies. You may not share access beyond the users allowed by your plan.

3. Subscriptions, billing, and taxes

Paid subscriptions renew automatically for the billing interval shown at checkout unless canceled before renewal. You authorize us and our payment provider to charge the payment method on file for subscription fees and applicable taxes. Prices and plan features may change prospectively; we will provide reasonable advance notice when a change affects an existing paid subscription.

You can cancel a subscription at any time. Unless an order form or applicable law says otherwise, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period and does not create a refund or credit for unused time. 4. Acceptable use

You may not use a service to:

• violate law or another person's rights;
• upload malware or attempt to disrupt, probe, or bypass security or access controls;
• access data or accounts without authorization, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
• scrape, reverse engineer, copy, resell, or build a competing service from protected portions of our products except where law expressly permits it; or
• use automated output as the sole basis for decisions that create legal or similarly significant effects for another person.

5. Your content and feedback

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant us a limited license to host, process, transmit, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the services and meet our legal obligations. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit the content. If you provide feedback, we may use it without restriction or obligation to you.

6. Our intellectual property

Consul Forge and its licensors own the services, software, design, branding, and related intellectual property. Subject to these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the relevant service for your internal business purposes during your subscription.

7. Third-party services and sources

A product may link to, retrieve information from, or interoperate with third-party websites and services. We do not control those parties and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, terms, or practices. Your use of a third-party service is governed by its own terms. Links do not imply endorsement.

8. Service changes and suspension

We may improve, change, or discontinue features. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address security or legal risk, nonpayment, prohibited conduct, or a material breach of these Terms. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.

9. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” CONSUL FORGE DISCLAIMS IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY THAT A SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY ACCURATE. Some jurisdictions do not permit certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CONSUL FORGE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES. CONSUL FORGE'S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM A SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THAT SERVICE DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. These limits do not apply where they are prohibited by law.

11. Termination

You may stop using a service at any time. Following termination, your right to use the service ends, but provisions that by their nature should survive—including payment obligations, ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits—will remain in effect. Data handling after termination is described in our privacy policy.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms. Material changes will apply prospectively, and we will provide notice when reasonably appropriate. Continued use after an updated version takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
